Dear Co-laborers
"Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write you of our common Salvation, it was needful for me to write you, and exhort you that you should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints." Jude 3. The Concept of CONTENDING for the promised heritage and destiny (agonizomai in Greek) refers to fighting or wrestling for victory, like in public games. It also refers to the task of Faith in persevering amid temptation and opposition (1Timothy 6:12/4:7) Again it means to take pains, straining every nerve to the uttermost in a prize contest.pressing toward the goal (Luke13:24) Finally it means enduring special pains and toil for a treasured achievement, (Tim4:10/Col4:12)
Applied to the Christian faith, to earnestly contend for the faith therefore implies that there are hindrances trying out there against or in opposition to you in the path of developing your Christian life, church and ministry. But you must contend (or contest) and overcome them all.
As a Pastor I first of all greatly appreciate the patience of our precious people in our congregation for remaining united in PRAYER, Secondly to our partners co-operation they have displayed. People, we fulfil Great Commission through our own maturity, passion and compassion and to be part of united team, that operate in love, accountability and transparency. Everything we have done for the Master, or do now, has to be carefully planned and carried out with extreme care and discreetly.
In spite of adversities we face because of economic hardships The Lord raised up His church to be a Spiritual ARMY that will fill this nation with the knowledge of His glory as the water covers the sea.
Our center recorded an average of eleven (11) calls per month showing a drop from 2005 average was above 50/60. The sharp increase in telephone charges and poor services for ordinary people caused the drop to a total of 215 calls.
However this does not mean we were not busy God kept us so busy the PRAYER FIGHT. Our room for weekly prayer request was always full. The prayer and counseling recorded an alarming results. We recorded more than fifteen people per day.
In summary God says if you sow nothing towards protecting, maintaining, defending, enriching extending and spreading the free salvation that the Lord has freely given you,you will surely reap nothing out of that salvation. One great way of possessing, keeping and expanding your blessings is through prayer. It was not easy to sail through but by His grace we are still pressing on.
