Year 2004 has been a blessing with a total of 5,545 recorded calls. I have been able to encourage young people to walk respectfully. Some 400 callers have expressed faith in Jesus Christ. There have been numerous healings, both physical and emotional.  Praise to Him for this ministry.

A special Christmas program was presented on Christmas Eve at the local jail. Songs and skits were developed and prepared by our volunteers and staged for all prisoners.  Children of the prisoners (on a life sentence) presented the Gospel and Christmas story. Christmas ‘father’ distributed sweets and gifts. Pastor Rusn Pathak gave a Christmas message on Christmas Day. Our center is providing educational  aid for three children. We are also caring for widowed women. Thirty persons have acknowledged Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.

Through the year, 473 phone calls  came into the Center with 110 attending spiritual follow-up meetings.  Nine have been filled with the Holy Spirit. Praise God for His blessings.

Burkino Faso

A 22-year old woman is a student at the high school. Her father had been deceased for a long time. She didn’t have the money to pay her school fees and for other necessities as she had been abandoned by her parents.  She had decided to kill herself because of her personal suffering. We ran into each other on the way to market and a voice told me to speak to her.  After some conversation, I realized that she wanted to die, so I asked her to come with me to the Center.  I took a week to counsel her followed by prayers for deliverance.
She is now in good health, and by the grace of God, her school fees are taken care of. She wants to give her whole life to God.  God has taught me to help the needy spiritually and materially as it says in James 2:14-17.

Bungoma, Kenya

There are ten dedicated counselors working three hour shifts with two on at any one time.  Since our opening in Sept of 2001, we have averaged 20 calls per day. Last year we had 240 souls coming to the Lord through the Centre and calls so far have increased. Let’s also pray for all the directors all over the world that God will enable them to fulfill the call of God.

Crossline Christian Telephone Helplines is expanding. We have joined with nine Crossline systems and other ministries, including London’s Christian Helpline who are taking 70,000 calls per year. This will allow a full 24 hour coverage.  What this will mean is a caller anywhere in Great Britain, or the world, will be able to speak to another Christian on the other end of the phone. God is moving us on very fast now, and it is very exciting and scary, all at the same time.  Testimonies come in daily of God’s power as this phone ministry goes forward.

Counselor Commitment

Ministry opportunities are open for a Love Lines Counselor as soon as the telephone is answered.  This is what we thank God for; that He can use us to help lift the burden or pain from the caller. God will use us to listen, share scripture, pray and minister with His gifts. Other resources should be available for callers.  The progression of a typical call can be: Greet the caller.  Listen for the ‘felt need.’ Identify the problem and possible solutions.  Offer God’s counsel and hope.  Pray. Ask, “What do you think God wants you to do next?”  Offer additional helps. Literature, follow-up, referral agencies, in-person prayer appointment, or suggest a church.  Track the call by entering in the computer information, along with the caller’s commitment.  This is the ministry of our Counselors at Love Lines.   “We are hiring. Call for an interview. Full training is provided. Checks are made out by God and they are good for eternity.”
